Some experiences require support that goes beyond traditional therapy.
Monica Kristen Therapy provides specialized, trauma-informed services for individuals and families navigating immigration processes, trauma, violence, exploitation, and other complex circumstances.
These services are informed by significant experience working alongside survivors, immigrant communities, attorneys, legal-service organizations, and other professionals.
Immigration psychological evaluations can provide clinically informed documentation describing the psychological effects of trauma, violence, exploitation, family separation, and other significant experiences.
I provide trauma-informed immigration psychological evaluations with experience working with immigrant survivors of human trafficking, interpersonal violence, abuse, and other traumatic experiences.
Evaluations may be relevant to certain immigration matters, including T-visa and U-visa cases, among others.

Support may include:
Monica Kristen Therapy does not provide legal advice or legal representation. Services are intended to complement, not replace, the work of immigration counsel.
Survivors of human trafficking, interpersonal violence, abuse, and other crimes may have to navigate multiple systems at the same time.
Trauma-informed survivor support recognizes that healing doesn’t happen in isolation.
Support may focus on stabilization, coping, emotional regulation, navigating systems, identifying resources, and reconnecting with a sense of safety and choice.
The goal is not to tell you what your next step should be. It is to provide support as you determine what moving forward looks like for you.
Complex situations often involve more than one professional.
When appropriate, I collaborate with attorneys, clinicians, advocates, and other professionals while maintaining appropriate clinical boundaries and confidentiality.
Legal advocacy addresses the case. Trauma-informed care supports the person navigating it.
